The Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk is an American single-seat, twin-engine stealth attack aircraft that was developed by Lockheed’s secretive Skunk Works division and operated by the United States Air Force (USAF). The F-117 was based on the Have Blue technology demonstrator. The Nighthawk was the first operational aircraft to be designed around stealth technology. It’s first flight was June 18th 1981. This highly detailed Hobby Master model represents an F-117 from the 53rd Test and Evaluation Group Detachment 1, 53rd Wing based at Holloman AFB, New Mexico 2004. The detachment had the nickname “Dragon Test Team” and was responsible for maximizing the combat capability of the F-117 by conducting operational test and evaluation, tactics development and evaluation, and reliability and maintainability testing.
As with Hobby Master models this F-117 ,features engraved panel lines, antennas, surface details an opening canopy, a well-appointed cockpit (with instrumentation details), full weapons complement, optional-position landing gear, authentic squadron markings, and a display stand.
